Hey there! I'm Ivan of the Ozarks, that's me up there on the label- let me tell you - It's all about the RUB! My rub is made from 10 herbs and spices - a little salt and sugar too! It's the perfect thing to put on your pork or chicken before it hits the grill. Perfect for grilling, smoking, or whatever you call BBQing! |
When you sprinkle the rub on your meat you want to use a lot! You want to paint the meat a healthy red color - don't worry the rub is not salty and is meant to give your food that BBQ flavor and color! Rinse and dry your meat before you RUB! Oh Yea! Just grill and server! |
When you slow smoke your meat with my rub as apposed to a quick grilling you will want to mop your meat as it cooks. Here is a easy mop - 1/4 oil, 1/4 sugar, 1/4 molasses - 1/4 rub plus 1 beer! Stir and mop! Makes 2 cups! Substitution is encouraged! Remember Rub then Mop! Mop! Mop! -Yum! |

I have been making this rub for years - since I learned how to make proper BBQ - Some people ask why it's not HOT - well I do like it hot but I found that many people do not and those people complain more than the people that do like it hot. So if you want it hot - just add cyane - sprinkle it on to your taste. Or if you are using a mop put the hot pepper in the mop. Or make a nice BBQ fishing sauce with some zip to it! |
